Shaw Park North End Development

Our city is planning its biggest parks project since the Center of Clayton. It soon will reshape Shaw Park's north section, to be renamed Chapman Plaza in honor of the donor financing the changes with a generous $7 million gift, Bob Chapman, owner of Barry-Wehmiller Group across the street.

It would bring attractive changes to a section some view as underused. But many of us hope to ensure enough space for spontaneous play—kids running and sledding—amid new landscaping, pathways, and water features oriented to more programmed, adult uses.

If you've an opinion or want to learn more, I urge you to attend one of three forums that start Wednesday, or to write your aldermen.
